The 2010 International Fuller Woman Expo was OUT OF Sight this past weekend at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit, Mi. I've never experienced anything like it. Cassandra Jones-McBryde and Stephaine Penn-Danforth put together an amazing event. There were discussion panels, fabulous fashion shows, gift give aways and more. I was truly blessed to be one of the vendors that night. I even won a $100 gift certificate from Kiyonna and I purchased a fierce red cocktail dress that I've had my eye on for a while. Celebrities like Judge Karen Mills-Francis (Judge Karen), Whitney Thompson (America's Next Top Model Plus Size Winner), Mia Amber-Davis ('Road Trip' the movie & Plus Size Super model), and last but not least Kim Coles ('Living Single' & 'In Living Color') were in the building. Kim Coles served as the keynote speaker for the night and she introduced us to her empowerment program called G.I.F.T.S (a journey of self discovery). She also purchased a handbag and a couple of cocktail rings from Muah's vendor table. It was wonderful to see so many women from all different shapes, sizes, and ethnicity's come together for the sole purpose of uplifting one another. It's time that the world recognizes the internal and external beauty of the plus sized woman. This Expo is a great start and it is an event that I believe all fuller women should experience.
