The New Avenue
My past shopping experiences at the Avenue weren't all that great because some of the clothes seemed to be for older women. However, time has definitely been good for this plus sized retailer. Now you can walk into an Avenue store or log onto their site and find fabulous and funky items (they even have trendy tights now). Check out some of the items that I've chosen as "haute" looks for the fall season. What do you think?

Curvy Toccara
Toccara Jones has lost so much weight that some say she has crossed over to the other side, the skinny girl side. If you ask me, I think she looks great and her curves are just well proportioned now. There is nothing wrong with losing a little weight and toning up our curves. Get this great look that Toccara sported at a recent editorial photo shoot where she still represented for the curvy girls.

Curvy Girls Closet Clutter
I woke up this morning and had an epiphany. Last night I went shopping (yes again) and when I got home I realized that I bought an item that I had already purchased a few months ago. Now I know I'm addicted to shopping but this is ridiculous. I have realized that it's time for me to get my closet in order. I need a new system where I can see all the items I have in my closet (this also includes shoes).
I found some great organization tips from www.myhomeideas.com. Here are a few I ideas that I am going to try:
Clear it Out
Distinguish clothing and shoes that you wear and items that you need to get rid of. You can do this by the golden rule of closet organizing: If you haven’t worn it in a year, toss it.
Also, if it doesn’t fit you well, it is time to get rid of it. Instead of hanging on to your “skinny jeans” until you lose a few pounds, donate them. Then, when you get down to your goal weight, treat yourself to a new, stylish pair of jeans.
Good Tip: If you are on the fence about an item, “flag” the hanger. As you wear each item, remove the flag. At the end of each season, items that are still marked with a flag should be donated. If the item is in good condition and/or if you paid a lot for it, think about selling it at a local consignment store or online at a site such as eBay.
If the Shoe Fits
If you are keeping your shoeboxes, label what is inside. We like the Post-it Durable Tabs because they offer a writable surface and are quick and easy to apply. Alternatively, invest in clear shoeboxes with drawer-front pulls; they allow you to see what’s inside so you can easily access your shoes.
Post pictures of your organized or unorganized closet and I will definitely post before and after pictures of mine. Happy organizing....
